May saw an increase in needed rainfall for the area that helped curtail the wildfire threat in Llano County. The severe weather passing through the area did generate several calls for service, mostly high-water over low water crossings and several trees down in area roadways. The total number of calls for service for May was 16. We did respond to one large (~40 acre) but very slow-moving brush fire on Ranch Road 2900. The Department also provided mutual-aid assistance to the Kingsland VFD for a fully involved mobile home fire.

April was a needed break after a busy start to the year. We saw a modest increase in calls for service over last year (11 in 2024). Llano County is finally starting to see the rain we need to alleviate our drought conditions. Warmer weather also means lake recreation, and we had our first emergency response on Lake LBJ last month.
