Sunrise Beach Village Designated a Firewise Community

The City of Sunrise Beach Village was designated a Firewise Community in December, 2023. This was made possible through the efforts of the Texas Forest Service and the Sunrise Beach Volunteer Fire Department. This designation makes it possible for some homeowners to receive a discount on their homeowner’s insurance. USAA is one such insurer that provides discounts.  For additional information on the program go to the City of Sunrise Beach Village website at https://sunrisebeachtx.gov/firewise-community/

Efforts will continue throughout 2024 to educate those that live in our Wildland Urban Interface on how to provide a protective space around homes and to encourage folks to clear brush and flammable debris from around their homes making them safer from potential fires.
